Another way to show that Jesus is not God is to show the difference between God’s Will and Jesus’ will. Luke 22: 42 KJV delineates the difference between the two perfectly. The setting is the Garden of Gethsemane. Jesus is about to be captured and he knows what they will do to him. So, he prays - “Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done.” This verse needs no explanation. Another verse in the Bible that distinguishes God, the creator, from Jesus the man (and God’s Will from Jesus’) is Matthew 27: 46 KJV - And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, “Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani?” that is to say, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?” Supposedly, Jesus cried out and said this while hanging on the cross. Now, if these two verses do not convince people that God’s Will is distinct from Jesus’, then nothing will. But, for my part, I don’t live with eyes closed and a mind in robot mold, accepting blindly, without question, what other people tell me. Especially when it comes to my relationship with God. I am simply a folk philosopher and theologian who prays directly to God and studies independently. I know only one thing with certainty. God hears my humble cry. He answers my prayers, even though I think I am unworthy, and nourishes me with truth. As it concerns the historicity of Jesus Christ, I defer to a section of a book entitled, ‘THE CHRIST CONSPIRACY - The Greatest Story Ever Sold’ ©1999 - pp 77-87. It is written by Acharya S, a Classicist. It is well researched and informative. However, I will not vouch for the book in its entirety but do recommend it to people who are open-minded and hunger for understanding. Consider this woman’s ideas and then decide what to believe.
